Developing Global Citizens Through Intercultural Dialogue

Head of Production

Nurturing global mindedness is critical for young people to navigate the complex challenges of today’s world. Since 2009, TBI’s Generation Global programme has supported over 600,000 young people and 15,000 teachers in more than 40 countries to develop these skills.

With 1.8 billion people between the ages of 10 and 24, the world today has the largest youth population in history. This generation is also the most globally connected. Through technology, they have the power to drive change and develop innovative solutions to pressing issues.

With this in mind, education institutions increasingly recognise the need to equip young people with the digital skills and global awareness that will enable them to thrive in a connected, technology-enabled world. This involves understanding complex challenges, embracing diversity, and promoting values like peace and sustainability – all essential elements of global citizenship. Generation Global stands at the forefront of this mission, fostering open-mindedness and intercultural dialogue among young people aged 13 to 17. To convey this programme's impact, we interviewed youth participants and facilitators across Africa and APAC for a series of films and feature stories.
